A NEW Resource to Help You Increase Giving

"To give money away is an easy matter and in any man’s power. But to decide to whom to give it, and how large and when, and for what purpose and how, is neither in every man’s power nor an easy matter." — Aristotle

Our friends at Generis have created a new resource to help you increase giving by better understanding and engaging your givers. Did you know there are four types of givers in the church? Learn how to engage these types of givers in this free download

Children's Spaces That Inspire Purpose

By Cathy Hutchison

Children’s spaces are unique in that they lend themselves to a high degree of creativity when it comes to design.

Those designs are most effective when they are tailored to the unique needs and mission of the church.

To learn more about tempering ultra-creative designs with function in our children’s ministries, we spoke with three design firms about their latest design projects. Here is what they shared:

Abundant Life Dedication

Our team enjoyed worshiping with Abundant Life during their two dedication services on Sunday, January 3, 2016. The church presented each team member with a beautiful image of the church at sunrise printed on metal as well as personalized bibles. What a lovely gesture! Below are a few images from the two services.

The Summit Breaks Ground

The Summit Breaks Ground

The Summit, located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, broke ground on their 750 seat auditorium on Sunday, January 10, 2016. They had several complications in preparation for the service that morning, read what senior pastor, Jim Preisig, had to say about the day:

It would be no exaggeration to say that everything that could go wrong in the preparation for our groundbreaking ceremony actually did.

First, the weather was crazy, with torrential rain for several days prior. And then it became bitterly cold, with the temp falling precariously close to zero on Sunday morning.

Thom Rainer’s Five Secrets to Getting Church Guests to Return Cards

1. Keep it simple

How simple? As simple as a first name and email. The more information you ask the less likely they are to fill out a card.

2. Avoid the phone number

People simply don't like to be bothered and don't want to give out their phone number.

3. Go loose, not perforated.

Guests don't want to interrupt the service with the sound of tearing the card.

What's in the eBook?

With online banking and smartphone mobile pay apps, we simply aren’t carrying cash and checks like we used to. And that means we’re not carrying them to your church service either. When you don’t offer an alternative giving method, you have actually created an obstacle in someone’s way of giving to your church. Younger generations have smartphones by their side day and night. It’s our responsibility to meet them where they are if we are going to encourage them on their giving journey.

Westside Family Church Dedication

Westside Family Church Dedication

Westside Family Church held their dedication service on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

After leading the church staff through the Mantel Teter visioning and discovery process we were able to identify the needs of the church and start the design process to meet their objectives. These objectives included a 500 seat video venue auditorium which flows seamlessly with their existing 1,100 seat main auditorium, new middle school, high school and children's ministry space and a new lobby that blends with their current lobby. The team brought on general contractor, Pearce Construction, early on in the design process to assist with cost estimating and cost control.
