The Mantel Teter team came together to support the mission of Sheffield Place at their recent art auction, Off the Wall, on October 14, 2017. Skyler Phelps puts in countless hours to help make this event so successful. This year they raised $241,000 to empower homeless children and families to become self-sufficient! Mantel Teter was proud to sponsor Sheffield Place and its mission!

Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Day

At Mantel Teter we believe strongly in giving back to our Kansas City community. One of the organizations we support is Habitat for Humanity. Providing not only a shelter, but a home for an individual or family is something we wholeheartedly believe in. Along with other volunteers, our architects and staff helped with demo of an existing Kansas City home as well as reinforcement of the existing structure. There is still a lot of work to be done, but we enjoyed getting our hands dirty and laying the groundwork for this house to become a home. Below are a few photos from the day.

Empty Bowls, a Kansas City Benefit for Harvesters

Brian Rathsam and Skyler Phelps of Mantel Teter recently attended Empty Bowls, a Kansas City benefit for Harvesters. Empty Bowls is a worldwide project aimed at feeding hungry people one region at a time. Brian and his daughter helped serve various types of soups from Michael Smith RestaurantNara and B.B.'s Lawnside BarB-Q. The evening was filled with good food, a collection of ceramic bowls from Kansas City artist Leroy Grubbs and an art auction. Skyler even walked away with a few art pieces!
