Established in the Fall of 2004, Kaw Prairie Community Church is a church that is “Casual on the outside, serious on the inside – changing lives with Jesus’ love.” It is through this slogan that Mantel Teter Architects has successfully demonstrated a contemporary style of Worship that the client was seeking. The church of 200 plus has since grown out of their transient school facility looking to grow further at their Phase 1 Multi-Purpose Facility at the northwest corner of 7 Highway and Prairie Star Parkway in affluent Lenexa, Kansas. The Phase 1 facility consists of a multi-purpose room for Worship, fellowship meals and recreation. The building will house primarily classrooms until the second floor can be finished with the expectations that offices and additional classrooms will continue to serve the congregation. The exterior building is reminiscent of the “Prairie” through the use of stone materials and buff colors associated with the prairie wheat fields of Kansas. The property was master planned with the expectation that a dedicated youth facility and Sanctuary would be constructed as the congregation grows. read more >>
