Vineyard Church is a Kansas City Northland based ministry with a focus on building a Christian community by making fully devoted disciples of non-religious and nominally religious people.
Vineyard church has experienced phenomenal growth over the last several years. As a result of that growth, they found that their existing facility limited their ability to minister effectively in areas of worship, fellowship and education. Their highly visible 40+ acre site afforded the church an opportunity to expand their facilities to meet their growing ministry needs.
The church selected Mantel Teter and their partner Acoustic Dimensions to lead their journey from long-term strategic planning to project completion. Mantel Teter to lead the church ministry groups through programming workshops to clearly understand existing facility constraints as well as immediate and future ministry goals. The result was a defined development roadmap that the church can follow as their mission unfolds.
Design work began with a process called “rapid-prototyping”. This process is fundamentally different from standard charettes because architecture, engineering, acoustics, audio, video, and lighting were at the design table working in parallel process with the church. This amplified collaboration took Vineyard Church from zero to concept design in just a few days. The outcome was full coordination without the inherent compromise.
Facility improvements included a 1,000 seat Worship Space that also serves as a Multi-purpose Room, a Fellowship and Connection Space with a Café and Bookstore, a new Nursery Check-in Area, Nursery Classroom Remodeling and associated site improvements.
The church’s Master Plan includes a larger Worship Space, Education Space, Administrative Space and parking.
