After 47 years of being accustom to his leadership, hard work and determination, our CEO, Dwight Teter, retires.
Joining the firm in 1961 following graduation from Kansas University, Dwight helped build the foundation of what you know today as Mantel Teter Architects. Dwight became a shareholder and principal in the late 1960’s under the firm name Mantel & Steele Architects. In 1975, the firm name changed to Mantel & Teter Architects, remaining so until 2004, when the firm name changed to its current name and brand. Alongside his founding partner, Jim Mantel, whom retired in 1991, Dwight has cultivated several relationships through his journey with the firm.
His ability to cast vision, inspire collaboration and performance, and fortress challenges has contributed to the continued existence of the firm. His guidance has stimulated progress and positioned the firm to continue with success in its religious and education market sectors. To this continued vision and progress, Dwight leaves the firm under his long-time mentored leadership and partners David Evans, President and Skyler Phelps, Vice President.
From all of us at the firm, we would like to say thank you for all the dedication and leadership you have shown to our clients, as well as to us! We will hold near to our hearts the friendship that we have built and the knowledge we have learned from the greatest teacher. Your daily smile and words of encouragement will be missed.
Dwight’s last day to walk through the doors of Mantel Teter Architects as CEO was July 31st. We don’t know what we’ll do without him (actually we do know what we’re doing!) and I don’t think he quite knows what to do without us! We’ll miss you, Dwight.
