Excitement of Space
Serving a generation that has grown up with audio and visual communication as a primary voice, the church has learned to speak the language that connects its message with the people. This trend continues to strengthen as technology advances, and society expects more of this electronic language. The emerging church is now positioned to provide cutting edge worship services, not only through the spoken word, but also in drama, music, and video. The use of this exciting technology goes beyond the typical Sunday service; the more progressive churches now use it on a daily basis and with all age groups. The use of this technology is a direct reflection of the visionary mission and ministries of today’s emerging church; a church that is in motion. The use of this technology begins to establish a language stating whom the church is, and it makes an internal statement about the church’s external image. This language provides a feeling completeness to the journey, a journey started just a few moments ago.
A well-developed and thought out site master plan with a facility that has a unique contemporary architectural style and image is one of the hottest design trends for today’s church. This trend has elevated the church’s ability to meet its mission and its people’s needs. Such a trend supports the church’s vision; assist it in reaching ultimate goals, and providing an important first impression. An impression that states, we have arrived!
